Algiers Point Oyster Co.

Posted by Beatrix Bell on

Like the rest of the world, we spent a lot of time at home during Covid-19. Tourism in New Orleans was non-existent and our gift shop was pretty much dead. I found a pile of old oyster shells in my mother-in-law's back yard and decided I would try some crafting to alleviate my boredom. The idea was a success and that is when Algiers Point Oyster Company was born! Since then, I have perfected my oyster ornaments and have also expanded to trinket dishes.

It's been a fun hobby and it takes over the jewelry studio several days a month and I've been able to hire some part time workers to help me with its success! It really helped me compensate for MANY days of no customers and cancelled shows!

We now offer our oyster ornaments on our website as well as wholesale to gift shops nationwide.

Even better, we are officially in partnership with the a The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) and will donate $1 for every oyster sold to this great organization!
