We have been so inspired by Roman glass and want to share with you this amazing piece of history in jewelry form. Roman glass is excavated from ancient sites in the Mediterranean. It's original form was most likely a vase or a jug. Over time, Roman glass develops a beautiful texture and patina. These pieces date back from about 100 BCE.
The glass pieces on this necklace are wire wrapped together with 14K gold dipped wire and adorned with a handmade hook clasp.
It has been so fun working with these beautiful pieces. I cannot wait to continue to source this amazing upcycled material. Every jewelry design created with Roman glass will be packaged with a Roman glass info card.
